Patience

Well I will admit I never would have thought that a mix of umemployment and 20 5 year olds would have finally taught me the patience I have always hoped for..but I was wrong.

I have officially finished my 1st semester of student teaching and I loved it! I spent half of my time with 5th grade and really enjoyed it. I like the relationships that are easy to build with the older kids and even the chance to have 'adult' conversation. (I of course am comparing this to spending my days with a 4 and 2 year old). :) At Spring Break I began my 2nd rotation with Kindergarten...and L.O.V.E.D. it! Honestly just days before beginning with them I was a nervous wreck. I could only imagine it being like spending my days with 20 Jillian and Emma's and still needing to live at the end of the day. Well, I was wrong! It was nothing like I expected and I am so grateful for the time that I have had with the little stinkers. They taught me so many new words/phrases as well as learning how to enjoy the small things in a long day. This was something that I thought I was supposed to learn as a parent..but I just needed a little more push.
I will start my full time student teaching in August and will be with 5th grade and Kindergarten again. Can not wait!

Mark has been on the job hunt since January and next Tuesday he will start his new job...as a Police Officer in Hometown. He will start with office work and then attend the police academy for 5 months starting in June. I think he is nervous, but honestly I think being a cop with be a great job for him. His patience, rational thinking and lack of emotional reaction are just a few qualities that I know will help his experience as a cop be even better.
I will say though, the job hunt...at least from my end, has been an experience. I tend to be a little (a lot) impatient and look way into the future as far as how things may effect us. I knew how long he would have his unemployment benefits from the Army etc and I knew a job needed to be there so I didn't have to worry...but it didn't really matter how much I worried, God had much bigger plans in store than we could have even planned for.
Not to toot my husbands own horn, but he did very well on the police exams (he took 3) and was offered two different conditional offers. God really decided to test our faith again with Mark pretty much had the first job in the bag and a local officer showed up at our door to let him know they would like him too. Imagine that:) So Mark gave it to God, and turned down the first job in hopes that the 2nd job would work out. And it did!! God is seriously AMAZING!

Talk about testing a women's patience.

God has really taken us on a new amazing journed over the last 6 months. We moved home, said good bye to the Army, and depended on God more that EVER! He has known all along what he had in store for us...it was just up to us to realize it. And we have;)

Here are some pictures from the last few months!
