The Waiting Game

is for the birds!
With our experience the Army's motto is (or has always seemed to be) "Hurry Up and Wait!" Have I mentioned before that I am a very impatient person, therefore waiting just does not settle well with me :)
Mark was supposed to be here today. We only have one ring left on the countdown. So why he is not here yet???!!! Very legitimate question I think.
And of course the communication between Mark is I is ZERO. So I really have no idea what the hold up is, when I should be expecting a call or the like.
Saturday is our daughter's 1st Birthday. During the 3 delployments we have missed celebrating our own birthday's, anniversaries and other holidays, but we have yet to have to say that he has missed a birth of birthday of our children. We have been blessed that way. But, seriously, we are cutting it close here. And really I am just not sure I am up to partying without him here.
Let's just hope he will make it. I guess that's all we can do.
Ok, enough of the pity party. :)

I am not a very patient person either. I can't imagine what you must have to go through playing this waiting game. I'll be praying for a safe and happy homecoming for your family.

The waiting is the worst part after a long deployment...Especially when they have to turn around and go right back. The last trips Allen would not even tell us the estimated date of arrival that way I wouldn't be so frustrated.
I'm sure he'll be home in time for M's birthday...This is just giving her the extra time to start walking :)

I am so sorry you are having to go through this! I know this is hard for you, and I will be praying God helps you with the patience. He'll be home soon. If you need any help at all with Emma's birthday let me know and if you want to postpone the celebration everyone will more than understand! (She would rather have a party with her daddy on a different day than a party on her birthday without him...I'm sure)

O I really hope he makes it! We have a baby girl on the way and I think Dan will probably miss her first birthday and I'm already sad about that. O well, God is sovereign.
